Dr Neil Golder

The Medicine…

Dr Neil GolderI graduated from Manchester Medical School in 1991 winning the Arthritis Research Council Prize. I subsequently worked and trained in many of the leading teaching hospitals in Manchester, Liverpool and London. This included a wide range of specialties including several years each in Respiratory, Cardiology and Intensive Care Medicine.  I joined a General Practice partnership in the Cotswolds in 2003 while maintaining an active interest in aviation medical repatriations, working for many of the leading companies including the Healix Group. AXA, Mondial, IGAS, Mercury Assist, Medi-call, Atlas, and Air-Med.

The Flying…

I obtained my PPL at the British Airways Flying Club, Wycombe Air Park, in 2003 and am part-owner of a PA38 Tomahawk based there. I am also a member of the West London Aero Club and am part-owner of a Waltham-based PA28 Cherokee. I have added night and complex ratings to this as well as being signed-off for technically advanced aircraft (glass cockpit) by the FAA. I have flown about 600 hours in total which includes about 100 recreational flying hours in the USA. Probably my proudest achievement is flying a glass-cockpit C172 from New York to Indianapolis International and on to Chicago O’Hare, which was published as an Adventure Flying feature in Pilot Magazine, March 2006.
